Genco Berk is an Austrian “World Citizen”, who was born in Istanbul and spent his childhood in Frankfurt, Germany.

During this period he and his parents (architect / painter) frequently traveled to museums in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Brussels, Paris, London, Strasbourg, Stuttgart, Zurich, and to events like Documenta in Kassel, Germany. Exposed to the world of art and being raised by two artists gave him a clear understanding and a thorough developed feeling to discriminate trends.

He is a second generation architect and interior designer with more than 30 years of experience in “High-End” residential and commecial interiors. At the age of 17 he started to assist his father in interior design projects. Later on he studied architecture in Turkey and in the U.S.A. After graduating he executed the interior design for Dresdner Bank A.G. representative office in Istanbul. 

In 1990 he moved to Vienna and continued his architectural career by working as a free-lance architect in hospitality projects. During this period he made several excursions to Florence, Milan, Rome, Verona, Vicenza, Venice, Budapest and Prague.

Between 1997 and  2001 he worked as an airport consultant, on B.O.T. (Build-Operate-Transfer) projects, and represented Vienna International Airport as a consortia partner in the “New Ataturk International Airport Terminal” project in Istanbul.

In 2001 he studied New Media in Vancouver, Canada. Since 2004 he is continuing his profession in Shanghai and Japan and executes high-end residential and commercial interior design projects in combination with energy efficient solutions.
